Meet Alice Riley
Model, dancer, art director
We've had Alice on our watch list for a while. There's a confidence in her presence, a boyish appeal, and a particular posture that immediately reads as a dancer. When we finally made it happen in April, she'd just cut her hair short — the perfect protagonist for our Skip Day story, a narrative about escaping school for a day to roam along the river.
We met at her studio in Imperial Works, Tottenham. Maybe one of the last of its kind in London — a sprawling warehouse complex that still feels genuinely bohemian, despite the new-build towers rising around it. You approach through a fenced alley, past the back of the retail park and the railways, emerging into a film-set-like landscape of production studios, MOT shops and quiet alleys.

The kind of place that feels increasingly rare in cities like London and Berlin
Alice's space is vast — a two-level studio with a suite of rooms, the kind of place that feels increasingly rare in cities like London and Berlin. Beyond modelling and dancing, she works as a creative producer and art director, collaborating with clients like Kylie Minogue and Yungblud. She's deeply embedded in the LA creative scene, spending significant time there for work. On this cold April day, I can only assume she also goes there for the weather.
After shooting until the temperature dropped sharply after sunset, we retreated to Unit 3, a bar tucked into the studio complex that feels genuinely woven into the community. A proper place to end the day with the team – Gus, Mike, and Pepi, our maltipoo companion for the day.
